Accountable Officer for CDs The Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO) is a person nominated by the NHS Board to be responsible for a range of measures relating to the safe management and use of controlled drugs in accordance with the Health Act 2006 and the Controlled Drugs Regulations. They are ultimately responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use and management of CDs within NHS Tayside.
