Dermatology Patient Pathways

NHS Scotland have introduced a number of patient pathways. Central to the idea is to offer assistance in the management of patients in the community, and to provide tips for who and when to refer.  The following conditions are covered by the pathways: 

• Acne

• Alopecia

• Atopic eczema

• Benign skin conditions

• Hand and foot eczema

• Molluscum contagiosum

• Nail dystrophy

• Non-melanoma skin cancers

• Pruritus - general and local

• Rosacea

• Psoriasis

• Scabies

• Solar (actinic) keratosis and Bowen’s disease

• Suspicious pigmented lesions and melanocytic naevi (moles)

• Urticaria

• Viral warts
